Autocross Classing Information . . .

Classes:

Naturally Aspirated

A class for those without strictly performance-oriented Subarus to compete in a fun and safe performance driving event. Who said you can’t have fun in a family sedan!?

Sports Car A

The cream of the crop of performance Subaru vehicles.

Sports Car B

Subaru performance vehicles that are quite capable, but still on a budget.

Full Description:

The 2014 Scoobapalooza Autocross classing structure is based upon SCCA Solo event and has been modified for Scoobapalooza 2014. The organizers looked at all the SCCA Solo classes that Subarus compete in, and grouped model, year, and modification level into the three Scoobapalooza classes by RTP/PAX - “Racers’ Theoretical Performance.” Cars will first determine their SCCA class by modification level:

Stock: wheels/tires are free, but treadwear must be 140+. One aftermarket sway bar is allowed. Cat back exhaust is allowed, but no changes to

                    intake, downpipe, or tune.

Street Touring: Free suspension, up to Stage 2 (any/all of: intake, downpipe, tune), must use unleaded gas, treadwear must be 140+

Street Prepared: E85 or meth injection, integral component swaps (e.g. transmissions, differentials, update/backdate), R-compounds (racing slicks)

                    allowed

Street Modified: turbo swaps; stripped interiors

These classes have been slightly modified from the SCCA rules for common Subaru modification paths to allow for wider participation - for example, to fit in Street Touring, the tune cannot normally alter the boost tables; for Scoobapalooza, a full Stage 2 tune is permitted.

After determining your car’s SCCA class by modification level, your car will be grouped into one of the three Scoobapalooza classes for competition. PAX will be applied in the NA class; unfortunately, allowing modified boost tables in Street Touring breaks PAX for turbo cars. Accordingly, Sports Car A and B will not be subject to PAX for each car. However, an “average PAX” will be provided so friends in different classes can compare theoretical performance. The BRZ/FR-S and H6 models are competing with the WRX and STI based on past SCCA Solo performance and should be very competitive at Scoobapalooza.
